Bayer Leverkusen hosts Wolfsburg

After two consecutive wins since the restart of the Bundesliga, Bayer Leverkusen hosts Wolfsburg at the BayArena in a match from the 28th round. Let’s preview it in the next few paragraphs.

Bayer Leverkusen’s head coach Peter Bosz is surely thrilled with the way his players performed in the first two matches after the COVID-19 quarantine. After scoring four against Werder Bremen on Monday, Leverkusen made another great game and won with 3-1 its tough visit to Borussia M’gladbach.

The 20-years old Kai Havertz once again proved why he’s a future star. Havertz scored a brace against M’gladbach, while the veteran Sven Bender added one more after an assist from Kerem Demirbay. It was a perfect game from Bayer Leverkusen against a very strong opponent away from home. For the club this was a fourth win in the last five Bundesliga rounds. Thanks to this performance, Leverkusen are now back in Top 4 and aiming to qualify for the Champions League again.

Wolfsburg climbed up to 6th place during the weekend, despite of losing against Borussia Dortmund. The Wolves tried to oppose Die Borussen, but they got outperformed and lost against one of the strongest teams in the country. The fact that there was no fans at the Volkswagen Arena didn’t help, too.

Against Leverkusen Wolfsburg will be without the injured William and Ignacio Camacho, while Mamoudou Karamoko and Josua Guilavogui are also sidelined with fitness problems.

We can say this is an important game for both teams. Bayer Leverkusen are trying to qualify again for the Champions League, while for Wolfsburg it’s going to be important to keep the 6th place in the standings. Leverkusen are the team in a better shape at the moment and they proved it by winning twice in the last two rounds. Can Wolfsburg stop them?
