Koln – RB Leipzig
Koln and RB Leipzig will close the 29th round of the Bundesliga with a game at the RheinEnergieStadion on Monday night.
Koln were in a very good shape before the COVID-19 quarantine break, but since the restart of the season they managed to win just two points. In the previous round the Billy Goats conceded their 14th loss for the campaign when they paid a visit to Hoffenheim and suffered a 1-3 defeat.
The game at the PreZero Arena didn’t go very well for Koln. After just a hour of playing Hoffe were already three goals ahead. Florian Kainz scored one for the Billy Goats, but this was everything Koln had to offer in this match.
It’s up to the manager Markus Gisdol to make his team play well again. How we said, Koln were showing great things before the COVID-19 quarantine. Now they must try to get back to this level again.
On Monday Koln can’t use some of their players. Sebastian Bornauw is suspended, while Hauptmann, Verstraete, Drexler and Risse are out with injuries.
One win and two draws – this is RB Leipzig’s record since the quarantine break. The Red Bulls are currently 4th in the standings with 55 points, but the 5th Borussia M’gladbach are just two points behind. This is going to be a tough fight for the Top 4 and the Champions League, so the Red Bulls need every poiint they can win until the end of the season.
During the week Julian Nagelsmann’s team made its 10th draw for the season. RB Leipzig hosted Hertha BSC, but the game ended without a winner – 2-2. Lukas Klostermann and Patrick Schick scored for the Red Bulls.
On paper RB Leipzig must be favourites against Koln, but have it in mind that Nagelsmann’s team won just one of its three matches since the league began again.
