Leeds United – Manchester City
Leeds United are hosting struggling Manchester City at the Elland Road in a match from the 4th round of the Premier League. Can Marcelo Bielsa’s team cause another upset to Pep Guardiola and his team? Let’s preview it.
Leeds United have a positive start of the new season after their promotion from the Championship. The Peacocks lost their first one against Liverpool, but in the next two matches they enjoyed wins against Fulham and Sheffield United. It seems Marcelo Bielsa’s boys are getting in a good shape which is great news for the fans.
Few days ago Leeds paid a visit to Sheffield United at the Bramall Lane and secured a difficult, but sweet 1-0 win. The only goal was scored two minutes before the end when Patrick Bamford put the ball in the net after an assist from Jack Harrison.
Many people wonderred how an eccentric manager like Bielsa would do in the Premier League. The truth is the Argentine tactician is doing well so far. Can he continue like this?
Manchester City will try to bounce back after a really heavy defeat in the previous game. The Cityzens hosted Leicester City at the Etihad and even scored the first goal, but at the end they suffered a 2-5 defeat. Jamie Vardy scored a hattrick for the Foxes while Nathan Ake scored City’s second goal.
Clearly Pep Guardiola is under some serious pressure at the moment. His team didn’t do very well against Leicester and conceding five goals at home is more than humilating. If City does not improve, Guardiola’s job could be in danger here.
Everybody expects some kind of response from Manchester City after such a disastrious defeat in the previous round. But for the Cityzens it won’t be easy as Leicester City are ready to continue winning. They proved to be a capable team, so let’s see how they will do against another one of the Premier League heavyweights.
