Tottenham Hotspur – Arsenal
Tottenham Hotspur faces Arsenal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the big derby of Northern London. This is a game from the 11th round of the Premier League. Let’s preview it.
Tottenham are probably more than happy with their performance so far. Jose Mourinho’s team is leading the league standings with 21 points won so far. Spurs have lost just one of their 10 matches so far and they have won six of them. That’s a pretty good work from the team.
Last week Spurs won a strategic point during a very difficult visit to Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge. Tottenham’s main goal was to avoid losing and they did it – the game ended with a 0-0 draw. This point allowed Spurs to remain at the top of the league.
Tottenham’s manager Jose Mourinho still refuse to say his team is among the contenders for the Premier League title. Yes – that’s just 10 games played so far, but we must admit Tottenham are doing more than fine.
For Arsenal it’s a completely different type of situation right now. The Gunners are 14th in the current standings and that’s surely not something which makes them happy. With just 13 points won so far Arsenal seriously underperforming at the moment.
The statistics are not lying – Arsenal have won just one of their last five matches. Last week Mikel Arteta’s team hosted Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Emirates, but the match ended with a 1-2 win for the visitors. Right now Arteta’s job looks secure, but who knows if this performance of his team does not improve?
That’s our preview for the Premier League derby between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal on Sunday. Based on these two teams current form, Tottenham must be the favourite to take the three points. Arsenal are hurt, though – they will try their best to get a positive result.
