West Bromwich Albion – Chelsea

West Bromwich Albion hosts Chelsea at the The Hawthorns in a match from third round of the Premier League. Let’s preview this game in the next few minutes, shall we?

Two losses from the first two rounds and 8 goals conceded – surely that’s not the way W.B.A. wanted to start the season after their promotion for the Championship. They are currently at the bottom of the standings and this is a bit worrying for the team and the manager Slaven Bilic. It’s still too early for any desperation, but something is clear – West Bromwich must start winning points soon or later.

Last week The Baggies visited Everton at the Goodison Park and even scored two goals, but at the end they suffered a 2-5 loss. Grady Diangana and Matheus Pereira scored for the visitors, but it was everything from them for the day. Meanwhile West Bromwich finished the game with 10 men on the pitch because Kieran Gibbs’ red card in the 46th minute.

Chelsea had a rough experience in the previous round of the Premier League. The Blues suffered their first defeat for the season. Frank Lampard’s team hosted Liverpool at the Stamford Bridge, but the champions prevailed and went home with a 2-0 win. Everything went wrong for the Blues at the end of the first half when the centre-back Andreas Christensen got sent off. Until then it was 0-0 between these two teams.

Both West Bromwich Albion and Chelsea lost their last games in the Premier League, so both teams are hungry for some points in the next one. Surely Chelsea are the favourite here and this is a good opportunity for them to get back on their feet after the Liverpool result. They must do it without Andreas Christensen, though – the Danish centre-back is suspended for this one.
